BluClear for Vista Beta 1 by trm96 BluClear for Vista Beta 1 by trm96
This is the first public beta version of my Vista visual style.

When I post a later version I will be sure to include a list of everyone who made this VS possible including anyone who gives me feedback.

Please notify me of any bugs or anything you dislike. There is still quite a bit I want to do but I thought I would release a not final version to get feedback on it. Please note this is my first attempt at making a Vista VS and I still don't know VSB all that well...

Later on I will be porting this VS over to Windows Seven, but that will come later.

This VS has been tested on a few x64 SP1 Vista machines.

I set this up using TuneUp 2009, and none of my windows are transparent like in the pic, and my startbutton and task bar remain at the bottom. I'm pretty sure I'm the one doing something wrong, but help?

Sounds like you are not running DWM (Aero). Do you have the transparent windows with the default Vista visual style? If so then switch to that visual style then switch back to mine. If what I said does not work send me a note here on DA. As for the taskbar if you want it at the top as my screenshot is then right click on the taskbar and un-select where it says "Lock the taskbar" then you can drag it from the bottom to the sight side to the top, after that you should (don't have to) right click again and select "lock taskbar".

One thing I noticed is the flashing alert for minimized windows (for instance when someone messages you on MSN, the tab on the taskbar usually blinks orange or a different color. In this theme, it blinks but its hardly noticeable. I would suggest using orange for that type of event.

Yes, indeed it is a lot like yours. It's passable that that's where the idea came from. I'll add you to my credit list if that's ok...

I love this theme. It still has some tweaking but its definitely great. I love the small taskbar. Alot of Vista themes tend to stay with the thicker taskbar.

The start menu is really nice. I love the flatness and no borders. When "All Programs" is selected, the programs appear seamlessly. One thing I would like back is the account display picture but without the other icons (for instance when you select "computer" it shows a computer icon instead of the account picture).

Another thing I would fix in the future is the color on the minimize, maximize and close buttons. They seem a little too bland for this type of theme.

Other than that, you did a great job on this theme. :+fav:

Thanks! I know there is still a lot of work that needs to be done, after all this is beta 1 :). As for the taskbar, I agree, I like it thinner also.

In regard to the user account picture, I removed it because I wanted to be able to display a larger number of recently launched apps. Maybe I will make one with it and package it together with the one without it so users can decide if they want it or not. I'm sure it's possible to do as your requested and I will look into it.

Onto the Min, Max, Close buttons I will play around with different styles but I have to say I really like the current look of them.

Thank you for your kind words and also for the :+fav:!

Maybe I will make a tutorial, but I will post it on my blog. I will make sure all the users here on DA know about such a tutorial if I decide to do it by linking to it in a devation... So either look for it on here or subscribe to my RSS feed. (A little shameless plug for my blog :D)

Ya Ya ... I like! Always wanted a fully transparent start menu. Could you also release a version with thin taskbar ... most of the good XP visual styles had that feature, but not many in Vista (I miss that!). Anyway, awesome!

Looks good, however there is a bug, when the task bar buttons group together, the text goes missing. If you could fix that i would be most appreciative. Thanks

Is it possible to change the white borders in the startmenu? Because they make it look ugly. But everything else is nicely done.

Would it be possible to make typical Aero startmenu borders (they look a bit 3D)? I don't like flatyness^^

Hmmm no textglow in start menu? Well I could but it would be hard to read on a dark background... I'll see what I can do, thanks for the feedback!
